is the simplest representative of bimodal iterative maps. On the parameter plane it demonstrates the "crossroad area" patterns and complex structure of the borser of chaos associated with the period doubling scenario. The chaos border contains pieces of Feigenbaum's critical curves, tricritical points at their ends, and an infinite set of codimension-two critical points of MacKay and van Zeijts. In the parameter plane chart colors designate periods (green - period 1, yellow - 2, pink - 3, deep blue - 4, red - 8,…), gray area corresponds to chaos, and white - to divergence of iterations.
