CANDYS/QA – it is abbreviation for Computer Analysis of Nonlinear DYnamical Systems/Qualitative Analysis. The first version has been developed in the beginning of 90-th in programming language MODULA-2 for VAX/VMS. Then it has been translated to ANSI-C with the help of the translator from MODULA-2 to C. The current version is completely rewritten in C++. CANDYS/QA, with its powerful enough possibilities, rather dumb but working interactive interface, available though passive graphic representation of the solution process and not so steep learning curve is quite comprehensible compromise between simple in acquisition and functional, but slow and crude MATCONT, and homogeneously steep almost in every respect (with the exeption of, perhaps, graphics), not-so-user-friendly AUTO. Competition could make, probably, XPP.

To tell the truth, CANDYS was the only program which allows me to make a substantial advance concerning my test problem - coupled Rössler systems - and it takes me reasonable time: I managed to compute several period doublings (up to period 16-32), to do the continuation of each period doubling bifurcation until they reach the edge of the sinchronization tongue and to find terminal points (partly). For the sake of justice should note, that AUTO, probably, could make all of this too, provided I give itself time to study it better.
